Imagine the journey ahead

Sat Nam,

As we are about to begin a 40 days journey,
let’s take a moment to acknowledge the special conditions, circumstances, environments, events, constellations, commitments, and dreams that have weaved this time of tuning into a deep sate of prayer together.

“ The day on which one starts out is not the time to start one’s preparation”
 - Nigerian folk saying

The preparations for this journey have started long ago, maybe even before we were aware that we are going to go, or going to stay and travel at the same time.

One of the practices that you are invited to have is  keeping a daily journal, to reflect and document your journey.

We all hear a calling. these days
What is that calling?

On a soul level, what is knocking at your door?
What is your intention?

“The longest journey is the journey inwards Of him who has chosen his destiny”
- Dag Hammarskjold

It has probably been calling for a while, you have probably heard it, and you are about to go…
so take the time to reconnect with it.
And if you wish to understand it better – write about it.

Imagine the ways in which you can prepare for this journey.
Can you think of a way to ritualize this moment, like the pilgrim who picks up her staff for the long walk?

How would you mark the time?
Will you make a special meal?
Listen to a song that is meaningful for you?
Make a prayer?
Light a candle?
Wear an item which has a sacred connotation?
Read a poem?...

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step”
Lao Tzu (570-490 B.C.E)

40 days is a time of initiation.
