The Cosmic Egg is an ancient symbol of creation, found in the myths and traditions of many cultures. It represents the primordial beginning, a state of pure potential from which the universe - or a divine, awakened consciousness - emerges. Often depicted as resting on the vast, formless waters of creation, the egg holds within it the spark of life, waiting for the right moment to hatch.
But birth is not without rupture. The crack in the Cosmic Egg is the moment of transformation—the necessary break that allows new life to emerge. In our world today, we may experience cracks in our reality—times of uncertainty, upheaval, or profound change. Yet, what seems like a catastrophe may be an opening, a passage into a new way of being, a shift in perception, or an invitation to deeper awareness.
In this 16-day study and practice, we will work with the Cosmic Egg as a gateway of transformation, using breath, movement, and meditation to break through our own inner shells.
A key part of this journey will be a daily 31-minute meditation with the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, an ancient mantra, originating from the “Rig Veda” (Mandala 7, Hymn 59). This sacred mantra helps us face and overcome the fear of death - or the fear of transformation. Through this practice, we will embrace the process of release, renewal, and rebirth -culminating on the Spring Equinox, a powerful threshold of awakening.
