VISSUDHA
The Sanskrit name of the 5th chakra - Vissudha, relates to it’s role in the process of the journey on the Rainbow Bridge; the journey of making the unknown in us known, the unconscious conscious, the shadows clear, and the pure potential of the many layers of our existence available, so we are liberated, free to chose, free to be.
Why purification relates to the 5th chakra and not to any of the others?
Maybe we should first be asking: what is purification?
Purification is the process of rendering something pure, i.e. clean of foreign elements and/or pollution

Looking into the Etymology (the history words) of the English word ‘Purification’ we find that:

We find that the quality of our communication could be a reference to the level of purity of the whole system.
potentially, through the words and sounds we speak, and the quality of our listening, we can be purified.
We are purified through SOUND vibrations, as we are created, and we are creating through sound.

Water in the 5th chakra
As this is what we would like to explore at this stage of our journey,
let’s explore the means of purifying the water, as well as be purified by it.
Purifying Water
the methods for purifying water are many. Examining the different methods of water purification can guide us into the purification that can be achieved by bringing consciousness into our communication:
FILTRATION
Separating solid (dense) parts, from the liquids (subtler) parts by using a structure (a sieve for example) through which only the fluid (the subtle) can pass.
What is the medium you use for filtration of your communication? (for both speaking and listening)
SEDIMENATION
Larger ( dense) particles have a tendency to rest against a barrier, like the sand or rocks at the bottom of the ocean.
This is a natural result of gravity, or it can be done by centrifugal acceleration, or electromagnetism.
Do you let unwanted particles sink, so that they don’t contaminate your communication?
What do you do or not do so that they can sink?
DISTILATION
Separating the components or substances from a liquid by using selective boiling and condensation.
What does it mean to distil your words? Where is the heat for the ‘boiling’ coming from?
Can you direct your emotions in such a way that they become the energy needed for distillation?
Purified by Water
Exploring the way water moves can teach us so much.
Allowing the inherent quality of the water element ‘Apas’ (in Sanskrit from the root aap) meaning: ‘to pervade',
to reach every part of our being and to wash it,
just as the liquids in our body are everywhere: blood, mucus, bile, lymphatic fluids and so on. If they are all cleaned, the whole system will be clean, pure and well functioning.
Flowing with the creative essence of the water, as the Apas is continually altering itself into newer arrangements
( liquid, steam, ice or anything in between),
Our communication then becomes a pure co-creation with the infinite creative energy, it is not contaminated by the residue of our limited perception.
Bathing in holly places, ceremonies of Baptism, Purification and Initiation, are all done in water.
We bath in water for 40 weeks before emerging into the world.
What words and sound will emerge from us once they are purified, what are we birthing with our words?
