10th Gate
The 7th chakra is also known as the 10th gate, through which the soul leaves to travel
with the subtle body out of the magnetic field of the Earth.
This morning I was informed that a dear cousin of mine past away last night and that the funeral will take place today.
She has been suffering on many levels for a long time.
No Regret
The other night, after the Arti ceremony, my friend Dayananda shared that these days his teacher is mostly busy helping the many souls who pass away to cross with ease.
She says that many souls leave with much regret.
I’ve been crying for my cousin’s regrets,
and for my own,
with a promise that I will make sure that no area of my life,
and no relationship of mine is going to be coloured by regret,
not a slightest touch of regret.
Emotion into Devotion
The fire in the heart was burning as I walked into the desert,
sat by an Acacia tree and wailed,
chanting:
“The soul is thine
And the body thy action
Have mercy on your creation”-from the Slichot prayers
הנשמה לך”
והגוף פועלך
”חוסה על עמלך
- מתוך:סדר סליחות
For me, when I come to situations where the emotion is asking for a channel of deep devotional expression, it happens in the Hebrew language.
Fire in the 7th chakra
Does the fire in the heart, through the purifying expression of Vishudhi (the 5th chakra)
become the fire of the Sahasrara (the 7th chakra)
when we transform our emotion into devotion?
I am grateful for the vastness of the desert that allows for both:
the wail of emotions
and the depth of devotion
הנשמה לך The Soul is Thine
This is a very simple Hasidic chant.
The lyrics are from the prayers that are chanted in the month of Elul,
the month of preparation and contemplation before Yum Kipur – the Day of Atonement.
The melody is by Rabbi Shlomo Karlibach – a revolutionary Rabbi who created many simple yet very profound devotional chants.
In this particular video ( the first 3 min) you can see and hear the musician /writer Ehud Banai,
and by his side Rabbi Menachem Froman, who was a unique peace activist in the political landscape of Israel / Palestine.
