Bow and Arrow

sat nam (True Identity)

Fathers of the desert

“It was said of Anthony that one day he was relaxing with the brothers outside the cell when a hunter came by and rebuked him.
Anthony said, ‘Bend your bow and shoot an arrow’, and he did so. ‘Bend it again and shoot another’ and he did – and again and again. The hunter said, ‘Father, if I keep my bow always stretched it will break’. ‘ So it is with the monk’, replied Anthony; if we push ourselves beyond measure we will break; it is right for us from time to time to relax our efforts.”

(From ‘The sayings of the fathers of the desert’ – A collection of texts from the beginnings of Christian monasticism. The Desert Fathers, Christians who took shelter in the deserts of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Syria, and Palestine between the III and VII century, lived as hermits in huts, caves, in trees, or even on top of a stone pillar. They searched for a life of solitude, manual labor, contemplation, and silence, with the goal of growing spiritually.)

Fathers of the desert

Air in the 7th chakra brings me a day of relaxing my efforts.
If the fathers of the desert did it sometimes…

Self-Initiation

Is the name of the 4th and last part of the journey
In the original journey we were supposed to be at the Judea desert, and do special musical breath work, for releasing the natural inner music, and feeling comfortable with our authentic voice.

All through this journey it was clear for me that I long to have more time and skills for
developing an authentic musical expression.

It happened only very few times on this desert retreat, until yesterday.
Out of the wailing, for the death of my cousin, for the state of the world, came a release, a cry that initiated me into a musical flow.
A musical rebirth.

Irem from Istanbul has asked for this song.
Here it is, perfectly fitting the airing of the efforts to fly,

“Fly like a river
Flow with the ocean
Fly on the wind that blows through the winter
Dream about love
Believe in your dreams
Live in the ocean of love
Close your eyes and fill the wind that is blowing
Open up your hands and sing
I am holy
I am holy
I am here to live this life

Dance in not knowing
Know your perfect power
Dance like a lion in the wild
Laugh like a child
Sing in full presence
Sing with the lion in the wild
Close your eyes and fill the wind that is blowing
Open up your hearts and sing
I am holy
I am holy
I am open to see flowers blooming
I am here to live this life”

-Netanel Goldberg
