The Burning Bush

sat nam ( True Identity)

It is the middle of the journey.
The Fire in the Heart.
inviting me for a “change of heart”,
is that allowed?

What is your name?

What is your name?

eheye Asher Eheye

  1. An epithet of God, usually translated as "I Am That I Am" or "I Am Who I Am", literally meaning "I Will Be What I Will Be"

This is God’s answer to Moses’s very direct question,: What is your name?
Meaning; who are you? what is your essence?

Moses asks this question when God is first revealed to him in the burning bush,
on the same mountain that he would later ascend to for 40 days, into the thick cloud.
The same mountain that will be all up in flames, when the freed slaves, the people of Israel, will gather there.

The answer is not only the words, but also the vision from which they emerge: Fire

2 An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from within the thorn bush, and behold, the thorn bush was burning with fire, but the thorn bush was not being consumed.

13 And Moses said to God, "Behold I come to the children of Israel, and I say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What is His name?' what shall I say to them?"
14 God said to Moses, "Ehyeh asher ehyeh (I will be what I will be)," and He said, "So shall you say to the children of Israel, 'Ehyeh (I will be) has sent me to you.'"
Exodus Chapter 3

One of the implications of the name and the vision of the fire is: a constant state of becoming, unpredictable movement of being and becoming, the liberty to be continuously changing, developing, unbound to one form or one word,
a being of infinite potential possibilities, that can move in almost every direction, without repeating itself.
It is a liberated state of being.
This is God who holds the essence of liberation, it is God who is liberating.

If you ask the fire in your heart: Who are you?
what does it answer?

״I have a thousand brilliant lies
 For the question:
 How are you?
I have a thousand brilliant lies
 For the question:
 What is God?

If you think that the Truth can be known
From words,
If you think that the Sun and the Ocean
Can pass through that tiny opening
 Called the mouth,
 O someone should start laughing!
 Someone should start wildly
Laughing—
 Now!״

- Hafiz

“Once a young woman asked me,
“How does it feel to be a man?”
 And I replied,
 “My dear,
 I am not so sure.”
 Then she said,
 “Well, aren’t you a man?”
 And this time I replied,
“I view gender
 As a beautiful animal
That people often take for a walk on a leash
And might enter in some odd contest
To try to win strange prizes.
 My dear,
 A better question for Hafiz
 Would have been,
‘How does it feel to be a heart?”

- Hafiz

Burning bush in the sun

Still, I keep asking…
